Pinktober®: Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2020
At Hard Rock®, we value giving back to the community as much as we love giving our visitors a good time. With the PINKTOBER® breast cancer awareness campaign, we’re excited to be able to combine these two missions.
This October, we’re inviting you to enjoy a unique casino experience where all the proceeds go to charity. We’ve got the hottest gaming and delicious food you love, plus the opportunity to support an important cause with exclusive offerings that are sure to leave you feeling extra warm and fuzzy. Read on to learn more about PINKTOBER® and our events during Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2020.
What is PINKTOBER®?
The Hard Rock Heals Foundation® is the charitable arm of Hard Rock® that created the PINKTOBER® breast cancer awareness campaign 21 years ago. After more than two decades, this special initiative is still going strong, and it’s not hard to see why.
PINKTOBER® is the epitome of the Hard Rock® brand. The campaign unites Hard Rock® fans and partners worldwide in the fight against breast cancer. With an exciting array of creative events, music, and merchandise, October is the perfect time to discover the Hard Rock brand and give to a worthy cause that supports people globally.
Why Support Breast Cancer Awareness?
There’s a reason why Hard Rock® is such a strong supporter of the breast cancer awareness campaign across its international locations. Breast cancer is the world’s most common cancer among women, claiming hundreds of thousands of lives every year. Here are some other breast cancer awareness facts to show you why we want to help scientists research treatments for this disease.
Breast Cancer Awareness Facts
- Breast cancer affects 1 in 8 women in the U.S. alone
- Every two minutes, a woman in the U.S. is diagnosed with breast cancer
- Men get breast cancer too. Approximately one percent of all breast cancer cases in the U.S. occur in men
- In 2020 it is estimated that 42,170 women and 520 men will die from breast cancer
- Research and early detection have contributed to over 3.5 million breast cancer survivors in the U.S.
We want to keep up the momentum of medical advancements and support those affected by breast cancer. But we can’t do it alone. We need the help of our Hard Rockers during Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2020!
How Can You Get Involved?
It’s easy to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month in 2020. From October 1-29, Hard Rock® Cafes, Hotels, and Casinos around the world will be offering Breast Cancer Awareness events to raise money for local charities. All proceeds will be donated to organizations specializing in breast cancer awareness and research.
