Hard Rock Cafe Cincinnati is excited to finally reveal our own selection of musical artifacts from some of the most influential figures in music history.

Read on to learn more about the history of Hard Rock Cafe’s memorabilia collection and some of our most exciting new pieces in Cincinnati. You won’t want to miss them!

Hard Rock’s Legacy of Memorabilia

Hard Rock Cafe has been a hub of dining and entertainment since opening in London in 1971. The first notable donor to the Hard Rock Cafe memorabilia collection was Eric Clapton, who asked that his red Fender Lead II be mounted over his usual seat at the first cafe. This philanthropic gesture hardly went unnoticed. Shortly after, guitarist Pete Townshend donated his guitar to the cafe with a note stating, “Mine’s just as good as his!” The rest is Hard Rock history.

Hard Rock Cafe’s memorabilia collection  has spread across the globe and now surpasses 86,000 pieces, from iconic apparel to motor vehicles to instruments. Now that Hard Rock Cafe Cincinnati is open, we’re excited to add to the Hard Rock Cafe collection. Check out this Hard Rock Cafe memorabilia on your next visit!

Our Favorite New Additions at Hard Rock Cafe Cincinnati

Snoop Dogg’s Steelers Jersey

Rapper, producer, and actor Snoop Dogg dates his fame back to his 1992 debut on Dr. Dre’s single, “Deep Cover”. The next year Dre produced Snoop’s debut album, “Doggystyle'', which hit number one on the popular albums chart and sold 800,000 copies in its first week. Branching off from his musical career, Snoop has found success in the world of television with the majority of his roles as cameos of himself.

The media personality is also an avid Steelers fan and his personal jersey is the newest addition to the Hard Rock Cafe memorabilia collection. In fact, if you love sports and music, you’re in the right place. This display also features jerseys owned by Bon Jovi, ZZ Top, and Queen.

Bootsy Collins’ Painted Guitar

William Earl "Bootsy" Collins is a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, a bonafide bassist, and a Cincinnati native. We just had to include him throughout our Hard Rock Cafe memorabilia collection!

Bootsy’s first taste of fame occurred when his funk band The Pacemakers worked with James Brown to make hits like “Super Bad” and “Talkin’ Loud and Sayin’ Nothing”. He still influences the music industry today and recently named the band Silk Sonic, a collaboration between Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak.

You can check out Bootsy’s awesome Les Paul Guitar with a painted portrait as well as his famous gold outfit in the Hard Rock Cafe collection. We also have a collection of items from another Ohio native in this exhibit: Malina Moye. This artist was Fender Guitar’s first African-American, left-handed female endorsee and the founder of WCE Records. Rock on!

Tina Turner’s Fringe Dress

Tina Turner is one of the greatest performers of all time. Her energetic shows, powerful voice, and awesome outfits crowned her as the Queen of Rock ’n’ Roll from the early 1970s. We’re honored to have one of her iconic outfits as part of our Hard Rock Cafe memorabilia collection.

Take a look at her black fringe dress and you’ll be reminded of her strength and beauty. We included this diva in our list of favorite YouTube concerts. Watch her Nice & Rough Tour 1982 here!

Hard Cafe Cincinnati is home to many more incredible outfits. As you grab a bite to eat, look out for one of Rihanna’s gowns, a spangly Steven Tyler outfit, and Katy Perry’s snake-themed dress.

Chad Smith’s Signed Hat

Chad Smith has been the Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer since 1988. As well as being inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with the band in 2012, Smith is a member of hard rock supergroup Chicken Foot. With his fast right foot and awesome ghost notes, it’s no wonder we want to feature him in our Hard Rock Cafe memorabilia collection.

Head over to the Rock Shop to see his signed bowler hat. You can also check out hats worn by Madonna and Bono in the same exhibit. The best part about being in the Rock Shop is you can grab your own printed tees and accessories to start your very own Hard Rock Cafe collection at home!
