In the aftermath of our generation’s first major global pandemic, cities around the country are regaining signs of hope and resuming a sense of normalcy, albeit a new normal with newfound perspectives.
After a temporary closure aimed at controlling the coronavirus outbreak, Governor Mike DeWine and the Ohio Casino Control Commission gave all casinos in the state of Ohio the green light to reopen for business!
Since June 19, it has been “Game On” for the future home of Hard Rock Casino Cincinnati!
While health and hygiene have always been a top priority for us, since our reopen, it is more important than ever to implement and adhere to elevated safety protocols as we remain vigilant in our efforts to protect our guests and staff.
I’ve posted several updates to our website and social media pages detailing our continued maintenance and rigorous cleaning efforts we’ve implemented since January and continued during the closure and upon your return. Briefly recapping: our carpets have been deep cleaned and sanitized as well as slot machines-inside and out, air duct systems, casino chips, and all high touch surfaces.
Our elevated disinfecting and sanitizing protocols included in our re-opening plan are part of a larger enhanced safety program implemented by Hard Rock International’s proprietary Safe and Sound Program. The initiative ensures our hygiene and sanitation practices meet and exceed the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and our state regulators.
You will recognize our designated Safe + Sound Clean Team by their brightly colored shirts sanitizing all high-touch surface areas with frequency 24/7 for your protection.
Beyond a doubt, we have a team of individuals who are committed to providing a safe and sound environment and we are taking every precaution to ensure you, and our staff feel safe. While the guest experience may look and feel different, we will continue providing first-class hospitality our guests deserve and enjoy.
As soon as we were permitted, team members were called to report for work after more than a three-month absence. They have returned to an environment with new safety procedures in place. Prior to the casino reopening, all staff will have undergone COVID-19 training in addition to learning new safety protocols as we will not be conducting business as usual.
I thank you in advance for your patience and consideration as we adopt our new re-opening procedures. We are all human after all. There may be some longer than usual wait times to enter than before.
We apologize for any inconvenience these new procedures may cause however, our main concern is to keep all guests and team members safe and sound.

Many of you have contacted us via social media with questions regarding re-opening dates, new procedures, and questions surrounding renovations and carpeting. While we continue our re-branding to a Hard Rock property, projected timelines were deferred due to many vendors we partner with also being closed, and materials scarcity.
Businesses around the country were impacted due to a lack of revenue, and Hard Rock was no different. Despite our financial losses, we were fortunate to continue providing benefits to our staff. This was extremely important to us as team members are family and, our most valuable resource.
Believe me, I am as anxious as all of you to see Hard Rock Casino signage, the experience, the incomparable memorabilia and to dine at a Hard Rock Cafe. But for now, I ask for your understanding during what has become an extraordinary circumstance. Visible changes may not occur immediately, but you have my word, I will continue to provide timely updates as I have throughout our closure.
Our main priority remains your safety and that of our team members’. Everything else is secondary.

In closing, I wish to thank and salute the heroic efforts of our first responders, clinicians, and public health experts locally as well as worldwide. We extend our heartfelt condolences to families of loved ones who have lost their lives due to coronavirus.
I would also like to take a moment and acknowledge my incredible team members. The challenging time through quarantine necessitated adjusted work schedules and working remotely. A big thank you to our guests and the residents of Ohio and the Tri-State area for your support and understanding. We are proud of contributing to our regional economy, employing more than 1,000 professionals, and continuing our mission of giving back to those in need. Our doors may have been closed however our hearts remained open and, we were able to donate over 14 pallets of food and necessities to local food banks and kitchens.

Unfortunately, the closure deferred rebranding efforts and projected timelines of a Grand Opening as the Hard Rock Casino Cincinnati. We are hopeful the Grand opening of Hard Rock Casino Cincinnati will be late this year or early 2021.
Any slot machine cash out voucher that expired between March 13th, 2020 and the date we reopen will be extended for an additional 180 days from the date of opening.
